Michigan Engineering BLUElab members Samantha Rahmani and Alex Mattia anxiously examine peach dishes with water from the village of Chaquitón for signs of growing bacteria. Villagers at Chaquitón have complained that the pollution in the spring tap water makes their kids sick. UM students are here to develop affordable and efficient system to purify water. They partnered up with a Lutheran group Gloria Dei where Michigan Engineering Alum Ed Shearer is a member. Chaquitón, Guatemala. August 28th, 2015.
